Silver Creek Orchards Pick-Your-Own Apples: Sept. 12th & 13th (these are the correct dates)

Silver Creek Orchards:
Silver Creek Orchards, Inc. located in Nelson County Virginia,
is owned and operated by the Flippin Family. John T. Morton
began the farm in 1954. After operating the farm as a hobby,
John Morton turned the management over to his grandson, Bill
Flippin. What was once a hobby for John Morton quickly became
a livelihood for Bill Flippin
Today, With the help of daughter Ruth, and his son-in-law,
John Saunders, Bill manages approximately 1000 acres of farmland.
The majority of the farm income comes from 260 acres of fresh
apple sales. Silver Creek also raises 300 head of brood cows,
18 acres of wine grapes, 12 acres of sweet corn, and 4 acres
of bare root perennials.
Through all of this diversity Silver Creek strives to produce
the best quality products for the consumer to enjoy.

Red and Golden Delicious and Jonagold are available
to pick
October 10th & 11th, 2009
Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Rome, Fuji, York, Granny Smith, and Arkansas Black are available to pick.
